The Eastbourne Sea League got under way last week with the first match of a four match series. This year, as the league is being fished primarily in the summer, it is being fished on a Catch and Release basis. This is in keeping with the National Sea League Final to be held in Eastbourne on 28/29th November of this year.

The Biggest Fish Pool was split three ways between Tony Kirrage (flounder), Martin Payne (flounder) and Darren Mitchell (smoothound), all scoring 44pts.

National Sea League Final - Nov 2014 - Norfolk

The 2014 National Sea League Final beach fishing competition was held over the weekend of 22nd/23rd November, in North Norfolk, fishing the shingle ridge beaches of Cley, Salthouse  and Kelling/Weybourne. The Kelling Heath Holiday park, just a short distance away was the organisational, residential and social headquarters for this event.

27 Teams entered the event, and this included six teams from the Eastbourne area. Teams were entered from A&T Tackle, Anderida Fishing Club, Anglers Den, Tony's Tackle, The Railway and Sea Eagles.

Worthing based Prime Angling continued their run of success in recent years, by again taking first place with 49 penalty points winning 1st place trophies and £2000. Tronixpro, another Worthing based team were a close 2nd with 56 penalty points and welsh team Gary Evans Match Team came in 3rd with 79 penalty points.

Eastbourne based A & T Tackle  (pictured below) came 6th and were the top finishing team representing the Eastbourne Sea League.

Our very own Anglers Den team came in 8th position!! Well done lads, not bad at all out of 27 Teams!  Anglers Den were represented this year by Kevin Morgan, Jamie Morgan, Ian Hopper, Dave Dawson and Kim McGreevy.
