A Message to all Our Subscribers - Our Sea Blog will be changing in 2016

From January 2016, instead of posting on our Sea Blog, our 'Sea Angling Catch News' will become a section of our increasingly popular website www.anglersdensussex.co.uk

Our Sea Angling Blog will remain live at http://seablog.anglersdensussex.co.uk/, documenting two years worth of local Sussex Sea Angling news (Nov 2013, to date), but all news updates will be posted on our website in 'Sea Angling Catch News'.

This is a great move, as it will mean that you will be able to find local angling 'Catch News' (both sea and coarse), local Sussex angling information, instructional angling videos, and details of sea and coarse fishing tackle and bait all in one place! We have taken this move as our customers have told us that easy navigation around the information we provide is really important, leaving more time for fishing!

We will also be sending out regular email newsletters to highlight notable 'Catch News', new videos, new angling products, and other local angling news.

Subscribers to the Anglers Den Sussex Sea Angling Blog will automatically receive copies of  the Anglers Den Sussex Newsletter, so please take a look and, as always we welcome your feedback :)

Fish 4 Kidz 2016, Eastbourne Children's Angling Event - the planning starts here :)

The organising Committee of Fish 4 Kidz had a get together recently to highlight that this FREE children's beach angling event will be returning for it's FOURTH year in 2016.

This popular annual children's fishing competition was founded by Steve Frost of Eastbourne Nomads Angling Club, and involves close collaboration between local angling clubs, fishing tackle shops, and the RNLI. As an event close to his heart, Stephen Lloyd continues to offer his support as Patron.

Each Fish 4 Kidz event has boasted attendance by up to 80 budding sea anglers (between the ages of 5 and 16) who have fished off Eastbourne beaches for the day, under guidance from experienced anglers volunteering their time as Stewards. These events have proved a huge success with children and help to safeguard the future of our sport.

Keep an eye out for further news, as plans for Fish 4 Kidz 2016 begin to unfold.

Shore caught Bass - Eastbourne - October 2015

There have been a number of reports of good sized bass being caught off the shore at Eastbourne over the past week. Pictured below is  Antonio Santos with the nice sized bass he caught on surface lures on 19th October.

Pictured also are Mathew Love and Michael Love both with bass again caught off the Eastbourne shoreline on 20th October again on surface lures (Savage Gear).

See the Anglers Den Sussex website for details of shore fishing marks, along the Sussex Coast, from below Eastbourne's Beachy Head, past Langney Point through Pevensey Bay to Cooden, near Bexhill-On-Sea.   Click here for Fishing Mark Information

The beach along this stretch varies dramatically from the shingle beaches towards the east at Cooden, with shallow flats exposed at low water, contrasting with the cliffs at Beachy Head and the rock Marks towards the west.

Fishing Mark information advises what seasonal fish species to target, and of fishing tactics, tackle and bait.
