Anderida Beach Fishing Competition - 6th Match - Weds 18th March 2015

The sixth Anderida Beach Fishing Club competition of 2015 took place on Wednesday 18th March in Pevensey Bay, East Sussex, UK with 19 anglers fishing.

The overall winner was Malcolm Payne (pictured) who had a flounder and a codling in his total weight of 3lb 5oz. The biggest fish caught was a codling of 2lb 3½oz by David Tame (pictured), who also came second on the night.

Pictured also is Kevin Morgan with a dogfish of 1lb 10½oz.

The heaviest flat fish on the night was a 10½oz flounder for Tim Lane.

The fifth Over 50s Beach Fishing Competition of 2015 was held in Pevensey Bay, East Sussex, UK on Tues 10th March.

Heaviest round fish went to  Carol Vivien with  4½oz ,
and the biggest flat fish went to Ian Hopper  with 1lb 2oz

Points are awarded as follows, with 15 points for the winner, decreasing down to 1 point

The  2015 Anglers Den Open Beach Fishing Competition was held on Sunday 8th March in Pevensey Bay, East Sussex, UK.


The 2015 Open Competition marks a 25th anniversary year for Anglers Den!!




The competition was fished from the central beaches of Pevensey Bay on a beautiful sunny day. There were plenty of fish caught, the main species being plaice.



With a maximum of 75 entries, the match was fully booked over a week before the competition.

March Shore Caught Plaice - White Horses, Pevensey Bay - 6th March 2015

Martin Elkins caught these two nice plaice at White Horses, Pevensey Bay, East Sussex, UK . They weighed 1lb 8½oz and 1lb 5½oz.

Codling are being caught off the beaches at the moment at night along this stretch, and plaice being caught during the day.

The beach along this stretch varies dramatically from the shingle beaches towards the east at Cooden, with shallow flats exposed at low water, contrasting with the cliffs at Beachy Head and the rock Marks towards the west.

16lb Shore Caught Cod - Langney Point Eastbourne - 5th March 2015

Its that man again!! Gerald Seargeant fishing a Nomads Beach Competition on Thursday 5th March at Langney Point, Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK, caught this fantastic 16lb 1oz cod. He also caught 2 other codling in his bag weight, winning the match easily.

Reports suggest that there were about 20 codling weighed in, so we really are in the middle of a spring cod run.

This fish was also a new Anderida Beach Fishing Club record, breaking the previous club record by 2lb. We believe it also breaks the Nomads club record.

Spring Run of Codling in Pevensey Bay

The fifth Anderida Beach Fishing Club competition of 2015 took place on Wednesday 4th March in Pevensey Bay, East Sussex, UK with 20 anglers fishing.

On a moonlit night, with a flat calm sea, anglers were surprised at the number of good-sized codling  caught from the shore. The largest cod at 3lb 7oz was caught by Tim Lane. Other species caught included whiting, pout, plaice, dab and rockling.

The winner of the comp was Glyn Morgan of Anglers Den with a bag including a codling, whiting, pout and ling.
